ALLIANCE – The Torrington Sharks swim team found success at the second meet of the season in Alliance on Saturday, June 15, returning to Goshen County with a bag full of hardware and new PRs.

Capturing 16 gold medals, the Sharks also broke six meet records at the event.

“The Sharks had a great meet,” coach Baxter Greenwald said. “We brought the biggest team by far with more than 50 athletes competing (from Goshen County). We had nearly 20 first-place finishes, including two relays, which is pretty cool. We’ll be busy brushing off our skills this week for the meet in Bridgeport.”

Marshall Patrick shattered the meet record in the 8U boys’ 100-meter freestyle. Crossing the finish line in first place, Marshall timed in at 1 minute, 57.46 seconds. The previous record was 2:05.37 set in 2022.
