Five Tigers named all-conference

TORRINGTON – At the conclusion of the district playoffs for American Legion ‘A’ baseball teams in Wyoming, head coaches from each of the nine teams in the ‘A’ east conference selected the top talented athletes for the 2024 all-conference first and second team rosters.

Five members of the Torrington Tigers ‘A’ team snagged spots on the all-conference list in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the sport throughout the season. Ayden Desmond, Bryce Hager, Mac Hibben and Drew Kramer made the 2024 east all-conference first team roster while Landre Greiman was named to the second team roster.

Desmond secured first-team all-conference accolades in 2022 and 2023 as well as 2024. On offense, Desmond posted a batting average of .376, collecting 44 hits and 35 RBI over the course of the season. Desmond also tallied 10 stolen bases.

As a leftie pitcher, Desmond stepped up to the mound for 57 innings, posting an ERA of 3.193 while striking out 65. Defensively, Desmond tallied a 1.000 fielding percentage.

Hager excelled on both offense and defense. The Torrington High School graduate recorded a batting average of .421 for the season, totaling 40 hits for 30 RBI. Hager also tallied eight stolen bases.

Hager frequently played shortstop for the Tigers on defense and posted a fielding percentage of .781. Hager contributed to five double plays throughout the summer.

Hibben earned all-conference honors in 2023 in addition to 2024. Hibben led the Tigers in 2024 for RBI at 69. The lefty batter also collected 69 hits on the season and posted a batting average of .460.

On the mound, Hibben pitched 64.2 innings for the Tigers, striking out 104. Defensively, Hibben accumulated a fielding percentage of .971 and participated in six double plays.

Kramer led the Tigers in hits for the season, numbering 79, along with stolen bases, at 28. Kramer also tallied a batting average of .454 over the course of the season.

In the field, Kramer posted a fielding percentage of .857.

Greiman secured second-team all-conference recognition in 2023 as well as 2024. On offense, Greiman collected 43 hits, 27 RBI and 21 stolen bases – Greiman was second on the Tigers’ squad for stolen bases.

Greiman pitched 34 innings for the Tigers, striking out 24 and posting an ERA of 5.353. Greiman played multiple field positions, including catcher, and tallied a fielding percentage of 0.959.
