GOSHEN COUNTY – According to a CelluarPlus customer service representative, Verizon Wireless is reporting a major outage nationwide.
“There is a major outage this morning and Verizon is working hard to fix the issue,” a customer service representative said. “I do not have an estimated time on the fix.”
According to the spokesperson, 911 emergency calls will still connect. The outage seems to be affecting Verizon carriers only.
“The information we have is that Verizon is down, but Verizon customers are still able to get through with a 911 call,” Torrington Chief of Police, Matt Johnson said. “This seems to be accurate based on our testing and calls coming in.”
