TORRINGTON – This weekend was the 2024 Scottsbluff Valley Street Rods Classic Cars on Main. More than one hundred cars were lined along main street for the people of Torrington to come and see.

Trophies were awarded for a variety of classes including 1948 / Older Stock, 1949 / Newer to 1975 Stock, 1976 to Present Stock, Muscle Car Stock, Street Rod 1948/E, Street Machine 1949/L, Competition, Rad Rod, Tuner, Pickup 2000/E, Pickup 2001/L, 4X4 Under Construction, MC / Cruiser, MC / Sport, Misc/Unique, Low Rider

They had activities such as a bouncy castle for the kids and there were plenty of vendors selling foods and things they have made.

Even with it being such a hot day, so many people enjoyed.

The “pinup girls” - “Trixie Von Torque”, “Lena Wylde” and “RuBee Rambler” told the Telegram, “It’s a beautiful day, we had a great turn out, and we’re having fun!” They loved the variety of cars out on Saturday. They were also glad it was not as hot as it was last year.

When speaking to Ed and Pam Downes, Pam shared how her husband, Ed, only ever takes her to car shows where she can go to quilt stores. This is how they both have fun. They drove their car all the way down from Douglas because they want to make sure she it gets some use. They drive her in town occasionally but mostly out of town to car shows. They were happy to see there were some businesses were open. They shared they had an ‘awesome breakfast at the Bronco Grill.’ They also mentioned how they would like to go to the bakery (The Bread Doctor) just across the street.

There were many people who brought their car to the show who excited to speak to anyone who would ask about it. It was difficult finding anyone who was not already deep in conversation about their car.

The variety of cars was also very big. There were very old cars, new cars, cars meant for racing, and cars meant just for show. They all looked great. It was very nice seeing the community come together to support this event and it was especially exciting to see everyone looking so happy.
