Alan Gene Korell, 77, got to meet his Savior face to face on Monday July 29, 2024 (his mother’s birthday). Alan was third born to Henry and Rachel (Heckman) Korell, arriving on December 19, 1946. Alan had the privilege of being raised on a farm and he never strayed from his roots. He loved that his final home looked out over a corn field. Alan was a family man who loved bringing his large extended family together for food, fellowship, fun and music. He loved and supported his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren through thick and thin. His retirement brought the opportunity to pursue his many interests outside of agriculture. A significant archeological find on his farm spurred a passion for going on ‘digs’ and studying the history of his home country. It was through this interest that he met Terry, who became his wife, friend and support. Music was a passion that he shared with Terry, and they spent countless hours with Alan playing his guitar and singing with Terry. They eventually became involved in a small group that played in the community on occasion. A trip to Alaska fueled Alan’s passion for prospecting for gold. He returned to Alaska, and eventually filed claims in Arizona. Alan and Terry spent several winters in the desert, prospecting and making friends with other snowbirds. Alan’s strong faith in Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord, carried him through good times and bad. His final weeks still saw him sharing the joy of the Lord with those around him.

Alan is survived by his devoted wife Terry, and his children – Deanna (Jeffery), Tod (Carol), Andrea (Stacy), and Nikki (Matt); grandchildren – Brittany, Scott, Jordan, Charleigh, Jacob, Kaden, Kolten, Alyssa, Amanda, Ashley, Hailey, Katie, Dagan. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren and siblings – Wayne (Beth), Kathy (Bob), Gary, Kayleen (Dan) and sister-in-law Patricia. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Bob.
