The two later married August 15, 1957, in Crookston, Minnesota. After getting married they lived in Goodland, Kansas before returning to Torrington in 1961 to raise their family. Betty was the loving mother to Ronald, Brenda and Susan. She was a very proud mother, following her children in al the sporting events and other things her children participated in. After raising her children Betty got her GED, which she took great pride in. Betty became a widow in 1988 when Don passed away. She moved into town where she self-taught herself how to be handy. She remodeled her house, rewired, and put in all her cabinets. These skills she taught herself she was also very proud of. Some of Betty's hobbies included gardening, spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, cooking for her family as well as sharing her special salsa she made. Betty was involved in the Yoder Women's Club for many years. Betty's love and care for dogs showed just how great of a person she truly was. She will be missed by all those that knew her.
