TORRINGTON – Graveside services for Wanda Kay Russ, 74, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at the LaGrange Cemetery with Pastor Brian Herbert officiating. Wanda died August 23, 2024, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Arrangements are by the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com.

Wanda was born February 27, 1950, in Torrington, the daughter of Merle and Freda (Thomas) Babbitt. She grew up with her family in LaGrange graduated from LaGrange High School in 1968. She then went to college at Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington and moved to California until the late 1980s when she moved back to Torrington. She worked at First National Bank as a teller and later at Points West Community Bank as an account manager. She married John Russ on March 28, 2003, and retired from the bank in 2017. Wanda enjoyed visiting with family and friends whenever the time arose and also enjoyed attending Wyoming football games with Johnny Russ and gambling in Deadwood, South Dakota occasionally.

Wanda is survived by a nephew Jiggs F. Babbitt of Torrington; nieces Shawnae M. Branigan of Albin, Wyoming and Erika D. Rogers of Laramie, and a sister-in-law Sue D. Watson of Albin. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Jiggs L. Babbitt; an aunt Jo Ellen Coplea; and uncles Fred Thomas and Tommy Thomas.
