TORRINGTON – The 3A East lineman of the year, Jacob Wamboldt, and the co-3A East offensive player of the year, Bryan Lemmon, were named to the Casper Star-Tribune Super 25, which recognizes the top 25 football players across the state, regardless of class.

The Blazer duo were both named to the third-team Super 25 a season ago. Lemmon was the only sophomore to earn that distinction last year. Both Lemmon and Wamboldt stepped up their efforts this year to be put in the top-25 players of the year. The two were both pivotal members of the fifth-best offense and eighth best defense in the state, regardless of class.

Eight Blazers have been named to the Super 25 since 1991. Most recently, Logan Harris was honored in 2015 and 2016, while Skyler Miller earned the distinction in 2014 and 2015. Nine Cyclones have been honored in the same time span, with Jeff Burroughs (2015) as the last Southeast player to be named. Three Doggers throughout history have been Super 25 material, most recently Colten Wunder in 2015.

Torrington’s Nathan Stitt, who was the team’s punter, kicker, returner, corner and top receiver, was also named to the Super 25 second team. On the Super 25 third-team, Southeast’s Chase Lovercheck was recognized, along with Torrington quarterback Breyden Bivens.
