An unrelenting, powerful wind barreled down on the Torrington High School golf team and its opponents at the spring golf tournament hosted by Cottonwood Country Club on Friday.

The less-than-ideal golf conditions made play on the 18-hole course a challenge, but Torrington golfers made the best of the situation and teed off into the gale-force gusts without hardly a complaint. The Blazers and Lady Blazers fought both the wind and tough opponents to post solid performances as they completed the round.

Golfers finished up the final round around 3 p.m. as the coaching staff began to tablulate scores. Final results will be printed in the upcoming edition of the Torrington Telegram.
