Tiger C-NE goes 2-2 in Laramie

LARAMIE – The Torrington Tiger C-NE team went 2-2 over the weekend at the weekend Laramie Tournament hosted at Cowboy Field.

The Tigers opened the weekend with a 20-7 win over Wheatland on Friday morning.

Holden Hackett picked up the win on the mound for Torrington. He pitched three of the four innings on 72 pitches. Hackett struck out four.

Offensively, the Tigers tallied 12 hits and 12 walks.

Drew Kramer led the team with three hits, while Cole Keller and Hackett had two hits apiece.

On Saturday, Torrington dropped both games. In the afternoon contest, the Tigers fell 7-1 to Loveland, Colorado, and in the night cap, they lost to Laramie 13-10.

The loss to Loveland snapped a nine-game winning streak for the Tigers. Landre Greiman scored the team’s only run in the loss.

Torrington also recorded only one hit in the game, belonging to Brady Cook.

Ryan Moorehouse was tagged with the loss. He pitched four innings, giving up seven earned runs. He struck out five.

The Tigers followed it up with a 13-10 loss to tournament host Laramie.

Greiman paced the Torrington offensive output, going 4-for-4 at the plate.

On Sunday, the Tigers wrapped up the weekend with a 13-3 victory over Green River.

Mac Hibben was the winning pitching, throwing three of the four innings. He struck out five in the run-ruled victory.

At the plate, Cook led the team with three hits.

Torrington (18-5) travels to Gillette on Wednesday for a conference doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
