GLENROCK – The Torrington High School cross county teams wrapped up the regular season on Friday in Glenrock, and both Blazer teams won the team titles at the Glenrock Invite.
In the girls’ division, the Lady Blazers were led by freshman Kaycee Kasmicki, who finished second in 22 minutes, 43.96 seconds, while senior Amberly Froerer was fourth in 22:57.19. Sophomores Callie Taylor (22:59.73) and Tiffany Krueger (23:22.75) finished fifth and sixth, respectively, while junior Ada Merrigan placed seventh in 23:45.48. Freshman Elli Froerer finished 11th in 25:17.04.
The Lady Blazers won the team title with a team score of 19 points. Douglas was second with 37.
In the boys’ division, Torrington swept the top three spots.
Aydan Loya led the team with an individual win. He was the lone runner to break the 18-minute barrier with a time of 17:29.94. Freshman Sully Wilson was second in 18:37.41, while junior Myles Wilson was third in 18:39.42. Freshman Cole Keller was ninth in 19:25.20, while junior Zab Munoz was 10th in 19:30.09. Ty Albaugh placed 33rd in 25:05.40, while freshman Brody Harrison was 36th in 31:36.37.
The Blazers dominated the team standings with 25 points. Douglas was second with 61.
Torrington hosts the 3A East Conference meet on Thursday at the Cottonwood at Torrington Golf Course. It will be the first time the Blazers have hosted a cross county meet since 2018. Action gets underway at 2 p.m.
