THS boys’ tennis splits with Gering, Alliance

TORRINGTON – The Torrington boys tennis team split with Gering and Alliance earlier this week.

On Monday afternoon, the Blazers hosted Gering, walking away with a 3-2 victory.

Singles players Brian Fenn and Aidyn Saucedo picked up wins.

Fenn defeated Mark Karpf 6-4, 6-3, while Saucedo knocked off David Karpf 6-3, 7-5.

The No. 2 doubles team of Joseph Randolph and Benji Brady picked up the other win for the Blazers 7-5, 6-7 (5-7), 7-6 (9-7).

The next day the team traveled to Alliance, Neb. where Levi Wickham picked up Torrington’s only win of the day with an 8-6 final.

The Blazers are back in action Saturday. The boys return to Nebraska for the Scottsbluff Invite, while the Lady Blazers travel to Riverton for a 1 p.m. contest.
