LINGLE – The Lingle-Fort Laramie football team had an unexpected bye week following the announcement Rock River has cancelled the remainder of its season on Tuesday.

The Doggers and Longhorns were scheduled to play a 6-Man East Conference game Thursday afternoon in Rock River, but due to health issues by the Longhorns, they were forced to forfeit the game and the season.

As a result, the Doggers will be credited with a 2-0 win.

According to L-FL head coach Matt Cornelius, Lingle will not look for another opponent to make up for the lost game.

The Doggers (2-1 overall and 1-1 in the East Conference) will host Hanna-Elk Mountain (2-0 and 1-0) at          6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21.
