Lady Lancers surrender road loss

McCOOK, Neb. – Despite 10 kills and two aces by Lissette Lefforge, the Eastern Wyoming College Lady Lancers fell in three sets Tuesday against McCook Community College.

The Lady Lancers kept things close in the first set, falling 25-20. They came untracked in the second set and were unable to stop the McCook momentum, losing 25-12. The home team sealed the win 25-17 in the third and final set.

Lefforge led the way in kills, with 10. Precious Williams and Dawson Sharman both had solid nights at the net, accounting for six kills apiece. Kodi Edwards led the way in blocks, with two, while Williams and Paige Vitosh each adding one.

At the service line, Helena Khouri tied Lefforge in the ace department, with each Lady Lancer recording two. Khouri also led the way in digs, with 10, followed closely by Kylee Tresch. Tresch rounded out her stat line with a team-high 21 assists.

The loss drops EWC to 5-26 on the season and 3-16 against Region IX opponents. The Lady Lancers hosted Laredo, Texas Community College Thursday after press time. They hit the road this weekend to close out the regular season, taking on divisional opponents in Miles Community College on Friday at 7 p.m. and Northwest College on Saturday at 3 p.m.
