Lady Doggers drop pair of road matches

BURNS – The Lingle-Fort Laramie Lady Doggers dropped a pair of weekend road volleyball matches.

On Friday, the Lady Doggers head northwest to Glenrock, and the Class 2A Lady Herders defeated L-FL, 3-1 (25-16, 24-26, 25-18, 25-11).

Junior Tiah Meyer led the team with eight kills and two aces, while sophomore Kamryn Rafferty and freshman Natalie Speckner had five kills each. Sophomore Baylee Skinner tallied 20 assists.

On the defensive side of the net, Speckner led the team with two blocks, while Hill added one. Meyer led the team with 19 digs, and Skinner added 15.

On Saturday, Lingle went south to face the Class 3A Burns Lady Broncs.

Burns picked up a sweep of the Lady Doggers, 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 25-9).

In the loss, Lingle only tallied 16 kills. Junior M’Lynn Hill and Skinner led the team with four each, while Speckner and Meyer had three apiece.

Sophomore Ashlee Hattan tallied two of the team’s five serving aces, and Skinner recorded 12 assists.

Speckner and Meyer had two blocks apiece, and Speckner and Skinner recorded a team-high nine digs apiece.

Lingle (4-8) hits the road for a pair of matches on Saturday. At noon, the Lady Doggers head to Encampment to face the 4-5 Lady Tigers. Later that afternoon, the action moves to Saratoga for a 3 p.m. match against the 6-6 Lady Panthers.
