TORRINGTON – The Eastern Wyoming College Lancer Golf team kicked off the fall season September 7-8 at their home course in Torrington.
The Lancers won the tournament with a two-day total score of 578. McCook Community College finished second with a total score of 611.
Individually, the Lancers took the top four spots and ended up with six student-athletes in the top ten standings.
“The guys had a great first tournament of the year. We are pretty young, so it was great to come out and see the team play well early,” coach Zach Smith said. “I couldn’t be happier for Malosi to get the individual win. His positive attitude is infectious. We have some good competition in the region this year so I’m excited to watch our team over the next several weeks.”

Kash Kaufman, freshman, Torrington – 77-68 – 145, third
Gonzalo Arcelay Fernadez-Meras, freshman, Munguia, Spain – 71-75 – 146, tied-fourth
Trey Massey, sophomore, Lander – 77-70 – 147, sixth
Cameron Heath, freshman, Bolton, United Kingdom – 79-73 – 152, tied-eighth
The Lancers return to competition Friday and Saturday in Riverton.
