Doggers snag six top-eight places

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. – Lingle-Fort Laramie captured four top-eight finishes for the boys and two top-eight finishes for the girls at the Best in the West Classic in Scottsbluff, Neb. on Tuesday.
At the Best in the West Classic, which had 28 teams participating, the Dogger boys took 10th as a team and the Lady Doggers finished tied for 17th. Sidney, Neb. captured the boys title with 94 points and Gering, Neb. took first among the girls teams with 88 points.
Landen Fuller had the best finish on the track for the LFL boys, taking second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:00.27. He cross the finish line just behind Southeast’s Chase Lovercheck (2:00.00).

Ty Mueller paced the Doggers in the field events, recording a second-place finish in the long jump. He set a new personal record, clearing 21 feet, 5 inches. In the triple jump, Justice Madayag cleared 41 feet, 6.5 inches to take fourth.
Tyler Hunt gave it a go in the shot put. He set a new season-best for himself with a throw of 46 feet, 4.5 inches.
Georgia Wollert was the only Lady Dogger to compete in Scottsbluff. In the 100-meter hurdles, she clocked a time of 16.44 seconds, which was a personal-best, to finish second. In the high jump, the Lady Dogger cleared 4 feet, 11 inches to take fourth.
On Friday, LFL returns to competitive action for the Wyoming Track Classic in Casper. The Doggers move closer to home Saturday to compete in the Dennis Zowada Invitational in Lusk. After the action in Lusk, LFL has the SEWAC Invitational and then the regional and state tournaments.
