Timeless Treasures simple pleasures

TORRINGTON – Saturday morning the Gracie’s Promise Timeless Treasures event was held at the Zeimens Residence.

This weekend, President of Gracie’s Promise, Stephanie Marks, set up “a fall garden party with vintage charm” to raise money for Gracie’s Promise.

Proceeds of Timeless Treasures went to the non-profit charity to help fund assistance to families of children fighting medical tragedies. The proceeds of the event were matched up to $1000 by the Episcopal Foundation.

At this event, they displayed intricate little builds of scenes made by a few members of the community such as Geri Zeimens, Jodee Garrelts, Janet Haas and Rebecca Butler.  Also on display was Zeimens’ vintage items such as miniatures, jewelry, dolls, and many other collectables.

A number of the ladies who helped organize the event also made a variety of cakes to go with the drinks.

The weather was perfect despite the wind, and they had a great turnout. Many people came by to see everything and help contribute to the cause. Beside Zeimens, many of her friends came to help organize the event. They all had a great knowledge of the things on display, and they were fantastic to speak to.

Marilyn Olsen helped give visitors the tickets they needed to enter the drawings available to guests and handed out the gift boxes. Her husband, Gary, was the chauffeur for guests. Susan Adams was present in the jewelry display room to explain some of the many pieces and was available to make great conversation with visitors. Geri Zeimens husband George, and Marisol Boyer and Deidre Newman were also present to converse with guests and assist where needed among many other unmentioned helpers.

So many great people came together to help the event run smoothly. It was great to see everyone chatting and having a good time at such an important cause. There were so many cool things to look at, it was impossible to catch everything the first time around.
