Festival of sight success

Everything from woodwork crafts to freeze dried foods were available during the festival on Saturday. There was something for everyone.

Children giggling echoed through the park as a traffic jam ensued on the water slide on Saturday afternoon during the Torrington Lions Club’s Festival of Sight held at Pioneer Park.

The Torrington Lions Club put on an incredible opportunity for Goshen County to enjoy a cool summer day in the park while attending the annual Torrington Lions Club Festival of Sight. Attendees enjoyed a walk in Pioneer Park while visiting vendors, enjoying a game of basketball, or entering a horseshoe tournament. There were bounce houses and water slides for area children to enjoy as well and even a salsa making contest.

TORRINGTON – The weather at the Pioneer Park in Torrington on Saturday, July 20 for the Torrington Lions Club Annual Festival of Sight which took place on Saturday morning until 3 p.m. was perfect.

Temperatures were in the 80s and a light breeze drifted through the park where the community enjoyed vendors, food, raffles, games, and a sense of community for a good cause.

The festival serves as a fundraising effort for the club where their international service areas are listed as vision, diabetes, environment, hunger relief and pediatric cancer, according to their website.

Throughout the afternoon, participants enjoyed horseshoes and basketball tournaments. A salsa making contest also took place during the event on Saturday where Linda Garcia won the 2024 salsa making contest.
