Locals bring back wins at high school rodeo


GILLETTE – The Wyoming High School Rodeo Association converged on Gillette for a pair of rodeos over the weekend.

Goshen County competitors saw a lot of success with a trio of wins over the two days.

On Saturday, team ropers Kyler Clark and Colter Nunn won the event in 5.17 seconds, while goat tier Haiden Thompson finished second in 7.81 seconds.

On Sunday, Thompson picked up a pair of wins, including a run of 2.09 seconds in breakaway roping and 6.73 seconds in goat tying.

Brenna Herring also finished second on Sunday in barrel racing in 14.366 seconds.

The association moves to Casper for rodeos on Saturday and Sunday.
