Lady Cyclones sweep Burns

BURNS – The Southeast Lady Cyclones went on the road Friday, flexing their muscle in a three-set sweep over the Burns Lady Broncs, in large part due to Southeast’s 13 aces.

The Lady Cyclones got the winning going with a 25-16 victory in the first set. The Lady Broncs kept things closer in the second set, but Southeast still picked up the 25-19 win. In the third set, the Lady Cyclones won 25-11.

Ellie Schmitt was big at the net, recording 18 kills for a team-high. She also had 10 assists, five digs and three aces. Hailey Anderson led the way in aces for the Lady Cyclones, with seven on the day. She filled up her stat sheet with 10 kills, eight digs and two blocks.

Kelci Lovercheck and Whitney Foos also helped out at the service line, combining for three aces. The duo also combined for 13 digs. Kassidy McClun led the way in assists, with 12, while contributing a blocks and two digs.

Sheridan Pragnell, Morgan Ekwall and Macie Murphy combined for two blocks and two digs.

The Lady Cyclones now sit at 15-5 on the season with a 5-0 record in the conference. Their record is the best in the conference. They return to the court this weekend, playing Pine Bluffs on the road Friday at 5 p.m. and hosting Glenrock Saturday at 3 p.m.
