Hackbarth leads THS golf at home Invite

TORRINGTON –  Ryder Hackbarth led the Torrington High School golf teams on both days of the Torrington Invite at the Cottonwood at Torrington Golf Course.

Hackbarth shot an 89 on Thursday to finish as the third best round among 3A golfers but finished tied for 13th overall.

Gage Gibson was six strokes back with a 95 to place 17th. Malachi Braddy ended the round with a 101, while Josh Stitt shot a 105. Alex Waring had a round of 106, and Orion Medina had a 111.

As a team, the Blazers shot a 390 to place sixth. Cheyenne Central claimed the top spot with a 324, while Cheyenne East was second with 333.

In the girls’ division, Sydney Eaton shot a 111 to finish 12th, while Lauren Orr shot a 133.

Torrington didn’t record a team score, but Cheyenne Central won the team title with a 296. Cheyenne South and Laramie tied for second with a 308.

Day two brought some new teams to Torrington, including Kelly Walsh, Natrona County and Niobrara County.

Hackbarth, once again, paced the Blazer boys with a round of 84 to finish sixth.

Gibson finished tied for 11th with an 88, while Braddy shot a 90 to place 16th. Stitt shot a 105.

The boys finished fourth with a team total of 367. Cheyenne East won the team title with a 329. Kelly Walsh was second with 340.

In the girls’ division, Eaton finished the day with a 115 and Orr a 151.

The Blazers are back in action on Friday, Sept. 4 at the Buffalo Invite.
