Richard 'Dick' Block

CASPER – Richard “Dick” Block passed on March 29, 2024, at home surrounded by family. He was born in Mitchell, Nebraska, September 4, 1931, to Grace and Harold Block. He was the fifth of 10 children. The story was, he was so little his head fit in a tea cup and he slept in a shoe box. 

Richard served in the Korean War and after his service he met his wife Mary in Torrington. Later they married in 1958. He was the service manager for several car dealerships in Torrington. In 1970, the Block family moved to Gillette where Dick worked as the supervisor for Belle Fourche Pipe Line until his retirement in 1996. He then enjoyed going to visit his sibling across the States and going to his military reunions. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary, sons Brian, Lance, and grandson Ethan “Nate” as well as numerous siblings, three sisters and three brothers. 

He is survived by his daughters, Cathy and Beth; and daughter-in-law Jill; as well as siblings Ron, Morie, and Betty. Continuing with seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
