This year a mother/son dance will be held at 5:30 p.m.at the Torrington Middle School on March 22 for two enjoyable evenings.

“Last years even was such a success, we are getting a bigger venue,” according to a recent flyer. “Along with dancing, there will be a pizza dinner, yummy treats, fun activities and electronically drawn raffles.”

Tickets for this year’s event can be purchased for $40, which includes one raffle ticket, at Carquest in Torrington by asking for Chad Parish. Tickets will be valid for one child/parent duo however additional tickets may be purchased.

“This event is intended to reinforce modesty, purity, and wholesome environments centered around family,” the flyer continued. “Take this opportunity to show your child how a gentleman should treat a lady.”

Adult children are also welcomed to bring their parents and fill-in relatives are also encouraged to attend if the parent is unable, according to the flyer.

“Following the old-school style, sons are strongly encouraged/required to personally purchase the tickets for the mother/son dance, as well as earn the money to do so,” the flyer states. “Just snap a picture of him earning his way and have him present it during the ticket purchase.”
