Vicky was born October 25, 1949 in Greeley, Colorado at Osteopathic Memorial Hospital to Lloyd and Marjorie Sauter. She, her brother Larry, and her parents moved to Minatare, Nebraska where she graduated from high school in 1968.

On May 19, 1968 she married Bill Lashley. They lived in the Gering area working at the sale barn and on ranches until they moved to Saratoga in the mid-seventies where they took a ranch job on the Sanger Ranch at Jack Creek. Vicky helped take meals to the crew on cattle drives and to hunting camp sometimes in the fall. In November 1979 they welcomed their only daughter, Lianne. Vicky also worked part time in town at the local flower shop, which she enjoyed a lot. She always liked doing the flowers for the kids for Prom.  In 1988 the family moved to Encampment with the same ranch. In 1989 they took another ranch job position in Kaycee,  with the TTT Ranch. Vicky made the branding and shipping meals, along with countless lunches and baked goodies for the crew. Vicky also worked at the Siesta Motel cleaning rooms and at the processing plant during the fall hunting season. In 2003 the family moved to Hawk Springs  for a brief time on a leased place before moving to Huntley on the Grandy Farm. She spent a lot of time entertaining kids in her home there and making sure they were well fed. In 2006 that included her granddaughter, Katlynn. In 2007 they moved to Veteran, WY on a place with their daughter and granddaughter where she resided until her passing.

Vicky loved animals, but especially her dogs. She loved her flower gardens and doing “crafty” things. Vicky loved to cheer on the high school sports teams, even if none of her kids were playing. She enjoyed cooking and baking for everyone. She always made sure no one would leave her house hungry. Her greatest joys were her family and granddaughters. She was very proud of all her girls. She loved to visit with about anyone who would listen. She had the biggest, kindest heart and would help anyone that needed it.

Vicky is survived by her husband Bill of Veteran, WY; her daughter Lianne Read and son-in-law Justin of Veteran, WY; her granddaughters Katlynn and Jasmine Read of Veteran; her brother and sister-in-law Larry and Cathy Sauter of Gering, NE; and several nieces and nephews.

Vicky is preceded in death by her parents.
