TORRINGTON – Memorial services for Roy L. Eaton, 68, will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, 2019, at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Eaton officiating. Burial of the ashes will take place at a later date. Roy died Nov. 29, 2019, at home. 

Memorials may be given to the Diabetes Association or the Christ Reformed Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are by the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com.

Roy was born May 13, 1951, in Alliance, Neb., the son of Lewis and Beth (McClun) Eaton. He started school in Veteran and later graduated from Goshen Hole High School. During high school he worked on local farms. He attended college at Eastern Wyoming College. While in college he worked at Fort Laramie National Historic Park. 

He married Linda Jepson on Nov. 6, 1973, in Yoder. They had two sons. He worked for John Deere Company in their set-up shop for 11 years and then for CO-OP in their shop and propane service. 

The family moved to Springfield, S.D., for six years before returning to Torrington area, where he worked as the parts man at Rose Brothers Inc in Lingle until ill health led him into retirement.

Roy enjoyed woodworking, gardening, doing puzzles and being with his grandchildren. He was a member of 4-H, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts growing up and was a charter member of Christ Reformed Presbyterian Church.

Roy is survived by two sons: Adrian Eaton of Torrington and Brandon Eaton of Gering, Neb.; his motherm Beth Eaton of Torrington; four grandchildren: Aidan Eaton, Zada Eaton, David Eaton and Kimberly Eaton; brother: Bill Eaton of Yoder; sisters: Mary Banta of Wilston, N.D., and Kathy Oliver of Laramie; and his mother-in-law, Verna Jepson of Yoder. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Eaton; his wife, Linda Eaton; and a brother, David Eaton.
