TORRINGTON – Funeral services for Nickolas Morrell, 78, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Strock officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery.
Visitation was Tuesday from 3 to 5 p.m. and the casket will be open briefly following the service. Arrangements are by the Colyer Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com.
Nick died Aug. 18, 2017 at Community Hospital. Memorials may be given to the Torrington Senior Friendship Center.
Nick was born June 6, 1939, in St. Anthony, N. D., the son of Martin and Eva (Schaff) Morrell. He grew up in North Dakota. He moved to Bismarck, N. D., in July 1958 where he worked as a cement truck driver.
He married Leola Krein on June 14, 1960 in Bismarck. They moved to Mitchell, Neb., in 1963. He worked on power lines in the area. Later they moved to Torrington, where he worked at Torrington Cement Products. He retired
in 2007.
Nick is survived by his wife Leola Morrell of Torrington; a daughter Linda (Marcello) van den Brink of Riverton; two sons, David Morrell of Billings, Mont., and Dennis Morrell of Helena, Mont.; three brothers Steve Morrell of Bismarck, Larry Morrell of Isanti, Minn., and Pete Morrell of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister Lorrain Kline of Bismarck; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and
one sister.
