TORRINGTON – Michael L. “Mike” McCommon, 36, of Cheyenne, formerly of Torrington, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018, in Cheyenne.
Mike was born April 16, 1982 in Torrington, a son of Michael D. McCommon and Yvonne A. (Brooks) McCommon.
Mike graduated from Torrington High School in 2001 where he enjoyed playing sports. He later attended Eastern Wyoming College to become an art teacher. He began drawing the day he could first hold a pencil and from the age of 16, he considered himself a professional artist.
He met Michelle Cook in August 2008. The couple were married on Aug. 19, 2017.
His passion for art led him to start his own tattoo business 14 years ago, Infamous Illusions Tattoo. He loved to draw with his daughter, Michaelyn, and they would often tattoo each other with pens.
His many other interests included camping, hunting, fishing, motorcycles and tattoos. He will be remembered for his courageous struggle with cancer, ultimately defeating it twice, and for his love of his wife, daughter, parents, brothers, extended family and friends.
Mike is survived by his wife, Michelle McCommon; daughter, Michaelyn McCommon; mother, Yvonne McCommon; father, Michael McCommon; brothers, Tim (Amanda) McCommon and Cory McCommon; nieces and nephews, David, Victoria, Gabriel and Deyjah McCommon; and numerous members of Michelle’s family he grew
to love.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018, from 2 – 4 p.m. at the Schrader Reception Center, 2222 Russell Ave., Cheyenne.
