WRIGHT CITY, Mo. – Mary (Guion) McBroom of Wright City passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022 at her home, with her family at her side. She was born on Dec. 10, 1939 in Vicksburg, Mississippi, to the late Lee and Katie (Davidson) Guion. Mary had reached the age of 82 years.
Mary earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wyoming and worked as a teacher for many years. She also worked with computers, completing the task of purchasing and accounting. She was united in marriage to Claude McBroom on June 16, 1962 in Vicksburg, Mississippi. They spent 54 wonderful years together before his passing in 2017.
To this union, three children were born, Claude, Mike and Sean. Mary enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be dearly missed.
Mary McBroom was preceded in death by her husband, Claude; one son, Sean; her parents, Lee and Katie. Family members who will remain forever grateful for having shared in Mary's life are her two sons, Claude McBroom and wife Tracey, Mike McBroom and wife Veronica; ten grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Justin, Ryan, Haley, Gavin, Julia, Ayden, Justin Patrick and Shawn; siblings, Richard Guion and wife Kitty, Katherine Howell and husband Allen, Roberta Carson and husband Carl; cousins, Dr. John Porter, Bill Porter, Patricia Irby; numerous other relatives and many friends.
