TORRINGTON – Edith Marie (Jobe) Stacey, 93, of Portland, Ore., died peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 4, in her home surrounded by her family.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 30, at the Valley View Cemetery in Torrington with Pastor Rick Cederholm officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Edith expressed concern for the many men and women who have served their country who need a helping hand on their return to civilian life.  Friends may send their condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com .
Edith was born on March 17, 1923 in Torrington. She grew up on a farm in Torrington and, after graduating from high school in 1941, moved to Denver, Colo. to start her career.
She worked for several women’s clothing companies in Denver and Los Angeles and, after moving to Portland, she worked for Zell Brothers Jewelers. She met her husband Albert Stacey in Wyoming and after they married in 1948 they moved to Portland to start a new life. They bought a printing company in 1950 that became Stacey’s Lithography & Printing, which they owned until 2003.
Edith was an independent woman and lived life on her own terms. She was young at heart, fun to be with, wonderful company, and friends and family adored her. She will be sorely missed, but after a long and happy life she was ready to close this chapter and reunite with her husband Al, who died in 2001.
Edith is survived by her sons Brad and Jeff, her daughter-in-law Lois (Brad), her sister Bertie Knudsen Beahm, and many nephews and nieces.
