CHEYENNE – Dillard “Mike” Oren Davis passed away suddenly at the age of 84 on Jan. 17, 2017, at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne.
Mr. Davis was born on May 23, 1932, to Lola and Alva Davis in Henry, Neb. He met the love of his life in Kansas City, Mo., and married Clara Wolfer on May 11, 1957, in Conception Junction, Mo.
Mr. Davis worked throughout his life as a mechanic, head janitor at Torrington High School, and drove truck for CCI in Torrington. He served in the National Guard for 15 years. He loved to camp, fish and travel.
Mr. Davis is survived by his five children: Tom (Sue) Davis of Mesa, Ariz.; Eddy (Lucy) Davis of Vista, Calif.; Sharon Davis of Cheyenne; Greg (Ann Marie) Davis of Torrington; and Jerry (Karen) Davis of Bethlehem, N. H.; a sister, Mary Davis of Gering, Neb.; sisters-in-Law, Alice Davis of Torrington, and Linda Davis of Gillette. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, greatnieces and nephews and great-great-nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his wife Clara; parents Lola and Alva Davis; brothers Tommy Davis, Gary Davis, Sam Davis, Tim Davis, and; brother-in-Law Louis Wolfer.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date.
