TORRINGTON – Memorial services for Boden E. Barnes, 15, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2022, at Saint Rose Catholic Church with Father Ray Moss officiating. Private family burial will take place at a later time. Boden died at his home on May 23, 2022, and cremation has taken place. Memorials may be made to BBCA 4H Club or the Boden Barnes THS Golf Memorial Fund. Arrangements are by the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com.

Boden was born February 13, 2007, to Amy O’Dell and Michael Barnes in Torrington. He was an active member of Saint Rose Catholic Church. He attended school in Torrington, where he enjoyed and was active in many activities. He had many interests including playing the piano, 4-H, WWII history, airplanes, computers and technology and even built his own gaming computer. He was a member of the THS golf team and loved spending hours on the course. He played in the THS band and also participated in E-sports. He loved auto class and loved spending hours on his grandfathers ’66 Mustang. He was an exceptional student.

Boden had a smile for everyone and knew no stranger. He was a sensitive soul who could strike up a conversation with anyone at any age. He was a wonderful big brother to his sister Georgia. He loved spending time at the family cabin and fishing with his grandfather. He looked very forward to teaching technology to anyone at any age. When he found a new interest, he gave it 100%, including foreign language, to paracord braiding. He loved his four family dogs – Ollie, Gage, Ben and Oakley.

Boden was loved by all and will be missed by the hearts he touched.

He was preceded in death by Michael Barnes his father and Edward O’Dell his grandfather.

Boden is survived by his mother Amy O’Dell of Cheyenne; his grandmother Mary Kay O’Dell of Torrington; his sister Georgia Randall of Cheyenne; stepfather Robert Randall of Cheyenne; paternal grandparents Jane and Ken Betschart of Torrington; great grandmother Wanda Middleswarth of Torrington; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
