PUBLIC NOTICE

The Wyoming Public Service Commission (Commission) approved the Application of the City of Torrington for authority to set its Power Cost Adjustment (PCA) rate at ($0.000806) per kWh sold and adopt an Avoided Cost rate of $0.046014 per kWh, applicable to customers served outside the city limits. This represents an increase of $0.001512 per kWh from the PCA Rate currently in effect. The Commission’s approval is subject to notice, protest, intervention, refund, change, further investigation, opportunity for hearing, and further order of the Commission.

The monthly bill for a typical residential customer outside Torrington’s corporate limits using approximately 750 kWh per month will increase by approximately $1.134 based on the new PCA Rate. Actual bills will vary with usage.

Commission Rule Chapter 3, Section 26 allows a utility to pass on to its customers known or projected commodity cost increases or decreases on a dollar-for-dollar basis, subject to public notice, opportunity for hearing, and refund.

Anyone desiring to file a statement, intervention petition, protest, or request for a public hearing in this matter must file in writing with the Commission on or before June 3, 2024. A proposed intervention or request for hearing must set forth the grounds, the position and interest of the petitioner in this proceeding.
