TORRINGTON – Mass of Christian Burial for Jerry Fred Schutt, 84, will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2024, at the Saint Rose Catholic Church with Father Ray Moss officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. 

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday March 21, 2024. 

Jerry passed away peacefully March 15, 2024, at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center in Cheyenne.

Jerry Fred Schutt, 84, of Torrington, passed away on March 15, 2024 in Cheyenne, due to Pneumonia. 

Jerry was born to Fred and Mary Schutt of Torrington on March 10, 1940. 

He grew up with his siblings Dick, Betty, Bill, and Bob. Being a kind, dependable, hardworking man was a character trait all had known Jerry by. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing, camping, and hunting. In addition to his passion for the outdoors, Jerry was a respected member of his community. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion and camaraderie that will continue to inspire and uplift others for years to come. Though Jerry Schutt may no longer walk among us, his spirit will live on in the pristine landscapes he cherished, the memories he created, and the hearts of those who loved him. 

As we mourn his passing, let us take comfort in knowing that he has found eternal peace in the great wilderness beyond.

Jerry Fred Schutt is survived by his son Ben Schutt (Steamboat Springs), and daughters Jerri Schutt (Denver), Pamela Palato (Wellington), Brenda Spevak (Santa Rosa, California), and Marci Milner (Frederick, Colorado.). 

From his loving children he is survived by 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in passing by his mother Marry Schutt, Father Fred Schutt, Brothers Dick Schutt, Bill Schutt, Bob Schutt, Sister Betty Hanson, and son Jeffrey Schutt.
