LINGLE – The Lingle-Fort Laramie Student Council is sponsoring the Dairyland Donkey Basketball Show on Friday, April 19 at the Lingle-Fort Laramie High School at 7:30 p.m. in the high school gym.

According to a recent press release from Donkeyland Donkey Ball, LLC, you will laugh like you’ve never laughed before at the wild and crazy donkey basketball show.

“It’s basketball played on real, live donkeys and it will be wilder than a rodeo and funnier than a circus. All local players will be riding, so come out and see someone you know try to ride a donkey and play basketball at the same time.”

Tickets will be available in advance for $7 or $10 at the door and all proceeds will benefit the Lingle-Fort Laramie Student Council. Children under 12 can ride the donkeys during the intermission for free, the release said.

The council is asking for public participation to develop basketball teams for the event.

“We have had about 15-20 riders sign up, but we need about 48. The Lingle Volunteer Fire Department has a team called Kicking Axes. The rest of the riders, so far, are staff, students, and parents,” Erin Estes, council advisor said. “If there is a community group or business that would like to make a team, please contact me as soon as possible. We can combine groups/businesses if they cannot get 8-12 riders on their own,” she added.

Riders must be 16 years old and weigh less than 225 pounds, riders 16-17 will need written permission.

To sign up to be a rider, contact Estes at 307-534-5671 or eestes@goshen1.org.
