Wyo-Ring hand bell choir “rings” in the Holiday season

TORRINGTON – Goshen County’s bell choir made a holiday inspired appearance at the  Goshen County Library on Tuesday, hosted by the Library Foundation.

The Wyo-Ring choir entertained the crowd with popular Christmas Carols with hand bells of all shapes and sizes during the story hour time with the library. There were several parents and a group of children who got to interact with the choir, and many smiles at the sounds of music people have grown up to know and love.

The group has had performances throughout the area, including a recent trip to Fort Robinson in Crawford, Neb., Lincoln Elementary in Torrington and more.

Joyce Willeke, director of the Wyo-Ring choirs, is well known as the previous music teacher for Southeast in Yoder and started the choir in 1998. The choir became Wyo-Ring in 2012.

This was a free community event for families to attend, hosted by the Goshen County Library with use of the Library Foundations’ facilities. Guests could pick up a juice box and rice crispy treat while they enjoyed the performance and there were small coloring books set out for the kids to take home.
