FORT LARAMIE – The public is invited to experience eastern Wyoming’s natural beauty with a hike along the Fort Laramie National Historic Site Trail.
Hikers are requested to meet at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, at the Army Iron Bridge, which spans the North Platte River near State Hwy. 160 west of Fort Laramie. Free hiking bags filled with supplies will be available, while they last, supplied by the Fort Laramie Historical Association, which is also hosting the event.
The start of the Fort Laramie NHS Trail is located at the Army Iron Bridge, about two miles before you arrive at the old fort. Turn south off Highway 26 onto Highway 160.
