Road closure set for EWC

TORRINGTON – The main entrance to the Eastern Wyoming College campus off North C Street in Torrington will be closed for approximately three weeks beginning Monday, the college announced Thursday.
Tami Afdahl, college relations director, said the closure relates to ongoing construction of the Career and Technical Education Center. The main road will be resurfaced and extended to mate up with access to a new parking lot below the CTEC building, Afdahl said.
“This is not unusual,” she said. “When we first began the construction of the CTEC facility, we had to shut down that entrance as well.
“This is just another part of that construction process,” Afdahl said. “We’ll divert traffic for a few weeks, then everything will be back to normal.”
An alternate entrance will be established at the south end of Pinnacle Drive, near the Fine Arts Building on campus, she said. Signage will be set up to mark the new entrance. The project should not impact summer education classes or other programs at the college, Afdahl said.
