‘Right to refuse service’

Posted

Dear Editor:

I will make this short.
In regards to the HB 135 bill, what ever happened to the “right to refuse service” that we as business owners used to have in our stores?

I think this bill is to protect the rights of the business owners without getting sued for refusing service to someone. I believe it is our right as people to refuse anyone who is out of line, drunk, or just being a complete jerk.
I also believe if you want me to bake a cake for a LGBT couple and I believe that is against my religion, I have the right to do so. I should also have the right in the courthouse to not issue you a license to get married, but someone in the office will do so, since it is the law, but I have the right not to do it, if it is against my religion without getting sued.
This is what I believe this bill is, not what the left says it is against the LGBT people.
I also believe that Cheri Steinmetz and Curt Meier would not support a bill that is what the left says it is, they would not support a hate bill.
