TORRINGTON – Memorial services for Ralph C. Nash, 100, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rick Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery.
Ralph died at his home on Aug. 12, 2017, and cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to either the Goshen Healthcare Community or the Senior Friendship Center. Arrangements are by the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be left at www.colyerfuneralhome.com.
Ralph was born May 1, 1917, in Henry, Neb. He married Anna Franz on June 16, 1936, in Harrisburg, Neb., and they had their only child Robert L. Nash. The family moved to Torrington, where he began construction on his home, where he remained until his passing. Ralph worked at farming and ranching in the Sheep Creek area before moving on to several potato companies in the Torrington area. He started working for Goshen Irrigation District in the late 1950’s for the next 18 years and then went to work for Goshen County Road and Bridge until his retirement in 1982.
Ralph and Anna’s true enjoyment came from buying and selling antiques. He continued to go to auctions up until his passing. When he wasn’t at home fixing clocks, old phonographs or outside riding his tractor, just to name a few, he enjoyed his time socializing with his friends at the local senior center.
Ralph is survived by his granddaughter Pam Nash of Fort Collins, Colo.; his grandson Mike (Julie) Nash of Torrington; two great-granddaughters Jaszmyne Beverly and Stephanie Aguallo of Torrington; a step-grandson Vince (Joyce) Grimes of Galeton, Colo.; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Anna; his son Bob; and 11 siblings.
Ralph was an amazing man and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
