CHEYENNE – Merle E. Watt, 67, of Cheyenne, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, after a short but valiant battle with cancer. Merle died at home surrounded by family and friends.
Merle was born Dec. 15, 1949, the son of Lucile (Grapes) and Arthur Watt. He grew up and attended school in Torrington. After graduating from the University of Wyoming, Merle began his working career as a teacher. He soon moved into a very successfully career in sales and continued that until retirement in November 2014.
Merle was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy (Sexton), children Brian Blosmo (Jami), D’Lynn VanValkenburgh (Jim), Jarrod Blosmo (Tracey), Jason Blosmo (Angie), Jordan Watt (Tara), Liv Degerness (Chad Morgan), Danny Watt (Sarah), 20 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, sister Janet Hartwig (Gary) and additional relatives and innumerable friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept., 9, at the home he shared with Kathy at 2486 County Road 218 in Cheyenne. Everyone is invited to share in this special remembrance.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to either the Pine Bluffs chapter of Pheasants Forever or The Autism Society of the Black Hills. Contributions will be gathered by the family and presented to the organizations named above.
