The $37,400 project, designed to alleviate traffic congestion at the intersection, is being paid for from city street maintenance and repair funds.

City of Torrington Streets Department Projects Manager Mark Weis said, the concrete requires seven days to fully “cure” before striping can be done. “As soon as it’s striped and the signs are up, (the turning lane) will be open to traffic,” he said.
