Marlene Valine Wagner

February 6, 1934 – January 3, 2023

LINGLE – Marlene Valine Wagner, 88, died Jan. 3, 2023, at the Goshen Care Center in Torrington. Memorial services will be held in the summer of 2023 in Lingle. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends may send their condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com. Cremation has taken place.

Marlene was born Feb. 6, 1934, at the family home near Lyman on the Nebraska/Wyoming border, the daughter of William and Bertha (Ehrlich) Keller. As a child, she worked on the family farm and helped to raise her six younger brothers and sisters. She remained very close to her siblings throughout her life. She graduated from Lingle High School in 1952 and married Sam Wagner on June 8, 1952. The couple was married 67 years until Sam’s death in February of 2020.

She enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s events and some of her favorite times were entertaining on holidays and spending time with family.

Marlene’s hobbies included painting, bridge, gardening and knitting. She also belonged to the Red Hat Ladies Club and was an Elder at the Lingle Presbyterian Church. 

Survivors include daughter, Julene (Jerry) Asmus of Torrington; son, Sam (Peggy) Wagner of Torrington; sisters, Javene Schutt of Lingle, Susie Speckner of Lingle and Audrey Wells of Torrington; brothers, Richard Keller of Torrington and Jim Keller of Boise, Idaho; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Proceeding her in death were her parents, husband and brother Billy Keller.
