TORRINGTON – From sacred to secular, from basic white to a plethora of colors, local residents have found ways to light up the night for the Christmas holiday again this year.
A short drive around Torrington after sunset discloses a wide variety of lighting schemes to brighten anyone’s holiday season. There are Santa’s by the score, elves, wise men, snowmen and even Tigger, all wishing everyone a merry and bright Christmas.
The decorations range from singular to multitudes, small ones hanging in a lone window to yards of lights decorating every available surface. Fences have been wrapped, trees festooned and gates garlanded with all manner of illumination.
Inflatables fill every available space, with lighted wire statues from angels to animals in the corners. It’s time to pack up the kiddos, grab a hot chocolate and take a spin around the neighborhood or the town for a little dose of Christmas cheer.
