TORRINGTON – Memorial services for Keith Gerald Dennis, 92, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017 at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in the Valley View Cemetery.
Keith died Nov. 11, 2017, at his home and cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to Regional West Medical Center Hospice or the Goshen County Senior Friendship Center. Arrangements are by the Colyer Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com.
Keith was born Oct. 9, 1925, in Hornell, N.Y., the son of Floyd and Minnie (Rose) Dennis. On June 11, 1946, he married Delores Mae Heier in Jamestown, N.D.
Keith joined the Marine Corp and they moved to El Paso, Texas. While in Texas their son Mike was born in 1948 and their daughter Norma in 1949.
They returned to North Dakota upon his discharge. Keith then attended Valley City State Teachers College and received his teaching degree in 1954.
They moved their family to Torrington, where he began teaching. He taught his entire career in Torrington. He taught Social Studies, Art and Aviation.
Keith is survived by his wife Delores of Torrington; his son Mike (Sue) Dennis of Torrington; his daughter Norma (Ken) Russell of Farmington, N.M.; two grandchildren Greg and Eve; and one great-grandchild, Owen. He was preceded in death by his parents.
