Hospital CEO talks COVID-19 plans

TORRINGTON – Banner Health’s Community Hospital and Banner Medical Group in Torrington believe it is our solemn responsibility to protect and promote health in Goshen County. In order to address the current COVID-19 outbreak, Community Hospital and the Banner Medical Group have taken the following precautions:

• Entrance to our hospital has been restricted to 1 entry point the Emergency Room Entrance, so that we are able to screen for possible respiratory illness.

• Only one visitor per patient, per day, will be permitted at this time. We will not allow any children under the age of 13 to visit our facility to prevent spread of illness. There may be exceptions made for well children to visit a loved one who is at end-of-life and/or is welcoming a new family member in our Labor and Delivery Department.

• We ensure our teams are up to date with the most current guidelines from the CDC and Wyoming Department of Health as they change.

• Our team is trained in the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment, and how to obtain the proper specimens for COVID-19 testing.

• Our providers are up to date in treatment of all respiratory illnesses and COVID-19.

• We work closely with Banner supply chain to ensure we have all needed supplies to care for our community.

We ask you, our neighbors and friends, to do the following should you suspect you or a loved one may have respiratory illness, including COVID-19.

• Please call ahead to the clinic and/or hospital prior to your appointment so our staff can be prepared for your arrival and meet you with a mask to reduce the spread of any respiratory illness.

• Please adhere to the visitor restrictions noted above.

• Please communicate with us if you have any concerns.

As always, if you have an emergency, please call 911 or visit the emergency room. Please put on a mask immediately upon entering the facility if you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms in order to protect other patients, visitors and health care workers.
