Founded as the Wyoming Home Demonstration Club, the groups were a place for farm and ranch women to meet and learn on a variety of topics.

Goshen County was once home to 37 Homemakers Clubs, started by the University of Wyoming Extension Service. Only one club remains today.

Current and past members of the Goshen County Homemakers gather Thursday for a tea party to commemorate the group’s 100th anniversary in the Brand Room at the Goshen County Rendezvous Center in Torrington. Sponsored by the University of Wyoming Extension Service, the clubs date back to 1915 in Wyoming with, at one time, 37 clubs in Goshen County. The Homemakers Clubs started for farm wives to meet and learn new skills to help around the farm home.
