GOSHEN COUNTY – No, the board members are not lost, but Goshen Community Theatre (GCT) needs help finding Goshen County citizens to join their board of directors. These citizens would be someone who loves the arts, specifically community theatre, and is willing to plan events, help produce and direct events, help with fundraising efforts and provide public relations for GCT.

The board has six positions filled currently but can have up to 11 board members in total.

The current board members are President Erin Jespersen, Vice President Victoria Schmick, Secretary Callie Allred, Treasurer Aileen Leithead, Public Relations Specialist Carolyn McBurney and Member at Large Diona Savoy-McDaniels.

There are no specific qualifications for the position, but a love and desire to produce musicals, plays and theatre productions for the local area is strongly desired.

The COVID pandemic of 2019 and 2020 put a sharp halt to operations by the theatre and they are hoping to come back this year stronger than ever.

“We want to come back from the pandemic and put on a show for you, the community,” Jespersen said.

GCT will also begin fundraising efforts in the coming months to help grow their program and put on shows. In recent years, GCT has shown two shows per year, but Jespersen said they may have to drop to one a year until they can find enough people to help out with the productions.
