CHEYENNE – The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for portion of eastern Wyoming, including Goshen, Laramie and Platte counties, through 7 p.m. this evening (Thursday).

According to a hazardous weather outlook issued Thursday morning, the potential for thunderstorms with hail and potentially-damaging winds was expected to increase through the afternoon. The possibility existed for an isolated tornado, the outlook said.

The potential for severe weather includes most of southeastern Wyoming and portions of the Nebraska Panhandle. Additional weather events will be possible through the weekend and into the first part of next week, with potential for strong thunderstorms developing Friday afternoon and evening along the Interstate 80 corridor.
