TORRINGTON – During the Super Blood Wolf Moon and total lunar eclipse last month, Torrington Community Hospital welcomed its first baby of 2019, Ainsley Dee Miskimins, at 7:28 p.m.

Miskimins weighed seven pounds, one ounce and measured 20-and-a-quarter inches long. Dr. Bonnie Randolph handled the delivery.

Parents are Jack and Erin Miskimins, along with brother, Asher, all of Van Tassell.

“Dr. Randolph told us early on in the pregnancy that we were in the running for the New Year’s baby,” Erin told the Telegram. “We weren’t really sure what to expect, but the hospital gave us a really nice gift for having the first baby of 2019.”

She added the family is adapting well to the new addition.

“(Ainsley and I) are both doing really well, and Ainsley is growing fast,” Erin said. “Our son, Asher, adores his baby sister and is constantly asking to hold and cuddle her, or he’s peeking over her crib to watch her sleep.”

Miskimins’ grandparents include Susan and Lowell Kautz and Brian and Marla McKenna, all of Torrington.
